Monk Fryston Summer Fayre Sunday 14th June 12.30 - 4pm
A great afternoon of Family Fun in the heart of our village as local groups come together to put the Fun in Fundraising. Whether its having a flutter on the ‘Lamb National’, enjoying a Pimms, Fizz or Draught Beer whilst watching local teams battle against each other in a very special Monk Fryston version of It’s a Knockout or quietly browsing the stalls at the Craft Fair you are bound to have a smashing time. Gates open at 12.30 and the stars of Frozen - Anna and Elsa will officially open the Fayre at 1pm.
Yorkshire Medieval Festival 1st – 31st August
Returning for its third exciting instalment, The Yorkshire Medieval Festival is coming to take God’s own County back to the middle ages this summer! Organised by The JORVIK Group, creators of the famous JORVIK Viking Festival, The Yorkshire Medieval Festival brings with it a wide range of events and activities for all the family to enjoy.
Try your hand as an eagle-eyed archer, discover mighty birds of prey with falconry demonstrations, see brave knights battle in thrilling re-enactments and spend the day in some of Yorkshire’s most idyllic settings.

Festival of British Archaeology Saturday 11th to Sunday 26th July 2015
Co-ordinated by the Council for British Archaeology, the 2015 Festival offers over 1,000 events nationwide, organised by museums, heritage organisations, National and Country Parks, universities, local societies, and community archaeology groups. St Wilfrid’s Medieval Festival Week- Sunday 2nd to Saturday 8th August
Our Saxon church will be at the centre of a week of medieval, as St. Wilfrids, takes part in the month long Yorvik Medieval Festival for the first time. A varied program of activities are planned including an evening escorted local history tour and visit to the archaeological excavation in Monk Fryston Hall, a concert and lecture about medieval life in the 14th Century. Our recently restored ancient church will be open all week for visitor to view a new exhibition about life in Fryston in the 14th Century drawn from information contained in the unique 1320 survey ordered by King Edward 2nd of the Extent of Fryston. Monk Fryston Beer Festival – 11th and 12th September
Members of Monk Fryston School PTA and the Community Association combine again to stage the 3rd Village Beer Festival. Anyone who has attended will testify that this event is a fabulous Fund Raising event and they have had a great time whilst helping provide a new school library and redevelop the Community Centre. Friday night is party night whilst Saturday is a little more genteel, Family oriented, meet the neighbours and friends, fun day. A great selection of local beers are served, along with just about anything else you might want to drink, along with a range of freshly cooked food. Live music on both days.
